What is an Interview?

“Interview”, the very word brings a chill to our nerves. Is it that dreadful and why do we fear so much? Well to understand what an Interview is, we need to see, what Dictionary has to say about it. Dictionary gives two meanings of the word “Interview”, the first one is “ a formal meeting in which one or more persons question, consult, or evaluate another person [ a job interview]” and the other is “a meeting or conversation in which a writer or reporter asks questions of one or more persons from whom material is sought for a newspaper story, television broadcast, etc.”

An interview is a mirror to see our inner self. The hard fact is that the demand for jobs is greater than its supply and the job market is extremely competitive. Many of the interviewees may be highly qualified but it is usually the best interviewee than the best candidate who gets the job. Preparing well for an interview is the key to success. In order to succeed in an interview each individual must make an honest self-assessment and find out one's areas of strength and weakness.
